Honoring our Ancestors : A Sacred Pitra Paksh Pooja 

Pitru Paksha Puja is a Hindu ritual, widely known as the Shraadh, that honors ancestors during a 16 day period to pay them homage, seek their blessings, and resolve Karmic debts. 

The Puja requests blessings from one's ancestors to seek their protection and blessings, and focuses on offering gratitude for their sacrifices and contributions. 

From an astrological aspect, this Puja reduces the malignifying influence of the planets representing ancestral lineage (Pitru Dosh) in natal charts to balance out the emotional being as well as bring overall well being. 

As the sacred fortnight of Pitra Paksh commenced  this year, devotees across the world entered a period of deep remembrance, reverence, and gratitude for their ancestors. On this divine day of 21st September, the Numero Saga dedicated to honoring the souls of our forefathers, is a bridge between generations. A sacred current of blessings flowing from the departed to the living, when our respected mentor Sir Viraj Kaddon, himself performed a profound a Collective Pitra Paksh Pooja, offering prayers of gratitude to not only ancestors, but also for the 1100 clients, now turned family, who have been spiritually healed under his guidance. 

The pooja was meticulously conducted in the divine Sai Mandir, from the precise chanting of the mantras to the detailed execution of each ritual including Tarpan (Water offering), Pind Daan (Food offering) and Homa (Fire offering) invoking the blessings of our Pitrs (Forefathers). 

It is believed that these offerings help our ancestors attain peace and liberation in the afterlife while invoking their blessings for the living, while spiritually reinforcing the journeys of those 1100 healed souls, ensuring peace in both visible and invisible worlds. 

This sacred Pitra Paksh Pooja was more than a ritual. It was a flame of remembrance, burning brightly with healing, gratitude, and blessings across generations and lifetimes.

The Significance of Pitra Paksh Pooja

Performing Shraddh and Pooja during Pitra Paksh is considered one of the most sacred duties in Sanatan Dharma. It is an act of humility and surrender, acknowledging the lineage that brought us into this world and seeking their blessings for peace, protection, and progress.

This Pooja was not just a ritual, but a transformative act of remembrance, and the way to seek blessings of the ancestors and resolve ancestral karmic debts. 

This is the very essence of Shraddh—faith, surrender, and resilience in honoring those who came before us.

Reflection and Renewal

Just as we know, ancestral remembrance is not a one time ritual but a continuous responsibility. To live with Dharma, uphold values passed down through generations, and to remember that our existence is rooted in the sacrifices of those who came before us.

ਪਿਤ੍ਰ ਪੱਖ ਪੂਜਾ, ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਾਧ ਵਜੋਂ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਆਰਾਧਨਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ 16 ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਵਧੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਰੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੂਰਵਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਲਈ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਨਾ, ਅਤੇ ਕਰਮਿਕ ਰਿਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਪਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ।

ਇਹ ਪੂਜਾ ਪੂਰਵਜਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਆਸ਼ੀਰਵਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਸੰਬਲ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਯਾਦਾਂ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਾ ਹੈ।

ਜੋਤਿਸ਼ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ

ਜੋਤਿਸ਼ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਇਹ ਪੂਜਾ ਜਨਮ ਕੁੰਡਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਤ੍ਰ ਦੋਸ਼ (ਪੂਰਵਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਸੰਤੁਲਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਦੋਸ਼) ਦੀ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੋ-ਭਾਵਨਾਤਮਿਕ ਸੰਤੁਲਨ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪੂਜਾ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਯਾਤਰਾ

ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪਿਤ੍ਰ ਪੱਖ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਹੋਈ, ਦੁਨੀਆ ਭਰ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਯਾਦਗਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁੱਬ ਗਏ। 21 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ, Team Numero Saga ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਪਿਤ੍ਰ ਪੱਖ ਪੂਜਾ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ – ਸਿਰਫ ਪੂਰਵਜਾਂ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਉਹ 1100 ਕਲਾਇਂਟਸ ਲਈ ਵੀ, ਜੋ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਵੀਰਾਜ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਨੁਮਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।

ਪੂਜਾ ਦਿਵਿਆ ਸਾਈ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੰਤਰ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਦੀ ਸਹੀ ਲਹਿਜ਼ਾ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹਰ ਇਕ ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਧੀਪੂਰਕ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ 

ਤਰਪਣ (ਜਲ ਅਰਪਣ)

ਪਿੰਡ ਦਾਨ (ਭੋਜਨ ਅਰਪਣ)

ਹੋਮ (ਅੱਗ ਦੀ ਆਰਾਧਨਾ)

ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ, ਇਹ ਤਿੰਨੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਆਵਾਂ ਮਿੱਟੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਆਤਮਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਖਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਤ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਸ਼ੀਰਵਾਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬਲਿਤ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਪੂਜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ 1100 ਆਤਮਿਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਉੱਚੇਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਿੱਧ ਹੋਈ।

ਇਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪਿਤ੍ਰ ਪੱਖ ਪੂਜਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਰਸਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਸਗੋਂ ਸੰਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਚੇਤਨਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜਦੀ, ਯਾਦਾਂ, ਚੰਗਿਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਆਸ਼ੀਰਵਾਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਚਮਕ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।

ਪਿਤ੍ਰ ਪੱਖ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ

ਸਨਾਤਨ ਧਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਤ੍ਰ ਪੱਖ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸ਼ਰਾਧ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਮੰਨੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਵਿਨਮ੍ਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਾ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਅਸਤਿਤਵ ਦੇ ਮੂਲ ਹਨ।

ਇਹ ਪੂਜਾ ਸਿਰਫ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕਰਮ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਪੂਰਵਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਸ਼ੀਰਵਾਦ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਮਿਕ ਰਿਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

ਸ਼ਰਾਧ ਦਾ ਅਸਲ ਅਰਥ ਵੀ ਇਹੀ ਹੈ – ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ, ਸਮਰਪਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿਣਸ਼ੀਲਤਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਦੇਣਾ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਏ।

ਚਿੰਤਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੀਨੀਕਰਨ

ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਹੈ, ਪੂਰਵਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਸਿਰਫ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਰਸਮ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਧਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਉਣਾ, ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦਰ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਆਏ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਉਣਾ, ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਅੱਜ ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
